The Book

'Carpe Cochlear, Non Lambere Cutler'

Once upon a time (Nov' 1997) Tina Hannan presented Terry Pratchett with some dwarf bread, figgins and a sticky toffee rat onna stick. Instead of hearing the expected rejoinder 'Go away now or I'll call security' - she was pleasantly surprised by a challenge. A challenge to provide Discworld recipes for a future publication. The precise wording has been lost in the mists of time, but it was somewhere along the lines of 'Come and have a go if you think you're mad enough'. And so, Tina spent many a happy hour conducting experiments in her kitchen, and yet she still found time to hand in the recipes before the deadline.

The result - Nanny Ogg's Cookbook, a champion tome with extraneous dialogue by the witty and erudite Mr. Terry Pratchett, assisted by the capable Mr. Stephen Briggs, and illustrated throughout by the sublime Master Paul Kidby. So far over 70,000 copies have been sold, but before you ask Tina to get the beers in, please note that the proceeds from it went to The Orangutan foundation.

A few years later at Clarecraft, Tina and friends Liz, Naomi, Tom and Rachel, got together to form 'The Slice Girls'. Their career was short lived however, as they couldn't be ar*ed to leave the bar.

Don't sleep with your head under the pillow Mr. Pratchett...

At the 2002 Convention, she teamed up with Cohen. The combination of their happy-go-lucky sunny personalities and ability to throw pointy objects very hard and very fast, won the crowds over to parting with £300 which Terry matched, to hand over to the furry orange ones.

A book signing in a barn in Woolpit, 2000. Tina is 'the one without the beard......'

Tina first came to the attention of Mr. Pratchett when she went to the Clarecraft event in the summer of '97, cunningly disguised in the City Watch uniform of Ankh Morpork, complete with blue fluffy blanket which she threw over Mr. Briggs. After worrying at him for a while, Terry decided that Tina was indeed Angua in the flesh so to speak.

Stab 'em to the left, Slash 'em to the right.....

At the following Clarecraft event, Tina finally found her vocation. Armed only with a large bag of sharp, heavy tools and a smile, she gently persuaded Terry to hand over a sizable donation to the Orangutan foundation.

"Conina?" "Papa?"

Clarecraft 2003.

Terry decided Stephen could do with some fun.

Stephen said 'No' even though Terry had coughed up £20...*

Terry decided the money shouldn't go to waste.

*The money once again went to the Orangutan foundation btw...
