Famous for it’s cheese and as a area of geological interest Cheddar Gauge and the village of Cheddar stand on the edge of the Mendip Forest. Some of the caves are open to the public (below), and climbers have plenty of varied rock faces to interest them. A range of small shops sell souvenirs and locally produced cheeses.
