Along the coast between Y Rhyl and Llandudno is Fae Golwyn and Hen Golwyn. A quite seaside resort, that is very popular with water skiers, jet skiers and families alike.
The Victorian Pier was abandoned and left to decay for many years, but is now, slowly, being restored by a private owner, at his own expense and with donations from other individuals. Having been turned down for funding by various bodies, restoration continues as funds allow. For more information visit the pier’s website.
The sandy beach (top right) is completely covered at high tide, but when the tide is out there is plenty of room for the “bucket and spade brigade”. Small kiosks along the front (second right) sell the usual selection of seaside wares.
There is plenty of parking space and easy access from the A55 that cuts through the town.
The pedestrianised shopping area (Station Road) has a friendly Saturday market (right) from the clock tower (opposite the railway station) to the junction with Abergele Road.
