This is a very popular sea side town, retaining its Victorian dignity while still incorporating modern facilities.
Dominated by the two headlands of Great and Little Orme, the town has two beaches. The less popular Pen Morfa (west beach) with its boating lake (second right) and Alice in Wonderland stature. The more popular North bay is a crescent shaped 3km long bay, with a beach and promenade (bottom).
Hotels stand along the flat sweep of the bay, with seating all the way along the prom, making it popular with older visitors. Children are catered for with a play area at the Little Orme end, and a “Punch and Judy” show near the pier.
The sweep of the bay can be seen as you climb the steep paths up Great Orme or visit the gardens (bottom right, and next page.)
