Shrewsbury Road

Shifnal  TF11 8AJ

01952 460 414

Surgery Hours:
Monday to Friday
8.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2.00 to 6.00 pm
Saturday  (Emergency only)
9.00 am to 12.00 noon

All consultations - including those for the same day - have to be by appointment (which may be made by telephone). Future appointments will only be possible for up to two weeks ahead.

These arrangements have been made to ensure better accessibility for patients wishing to make an appointment by telephone.

If a doctor requested is not available then an alternative one will be offered.

Clinics have been set up to deal with specific needs and it is important to make an  appointment in these clinics. For example, the Practice Nurses run clinics for the following: wound dressings, smears, antenatal, diabetic, asthma, child health, family planning, travel and immunisations. There are also: blood pressure, blood test and new patient check clinics run by the Heat Care Assistant. These can be booked in advance. However, the Practice Nurses do have appointments that can be booked on the day for other treatments.

Specialists in gynaecology, ENT, general surgery and orthopaedics visit the surgery on a regular basis to reduce the need for patients to travel to the hospital.

A number of other services are provided.  Contact Reception for all details.

When a surgery is closed, assistance in an emergency can be gained by calling this service. A highly trained nurse who answers the call will assess the need and give advice, arrange an appointment or - if the situation requires it - arrange contact with a doctor who will make a visit if a conversation over the telephone proves insufficient.

Advice can also be obtained from NHS Direct, a government helpline reached by telephoning 0845 46 47.
