The Old Village, Vilamoura, Central Algarve

The Local Area
	The marina and beach is an easy 15-minute level walk from the apartment. At the marina there are facilities for boat trips, sailing, paragliding, deep-sea fishing, hire of jet skis, etc. The main Falasia beach is one of the largest stretches of beach in the Algarve. As well as being accessible on foot, it can be reached by a regular bus service. If you are renting a car, there is covered parking at the beach.

There is a very pleasant walk along the beach, passing beach-bars and restaurants, from the marina to the fish market at the edge of Quarteira. There are also 2 water parks nearby. There are several bars and restaurants on the Old Village, supplying breakfast, simple snacks to full meals. There are many restaurants in Vilamoura, of all types, but the area is famous for its seafood and there are still many typical Portuguese restaurants serving traditional local food, particularly in Quarteira and Almancil. Golf Vilamoura is famous for golf and there are 6 courses in the immediate area, as well as many others within easy reach along the coast, making it an ideal base for a golf holiday. Local agents We use local agents to look after the apartment in our absence and they also are available to help all those staying at the apartment. They have an office within 100 yards of the apartment and will supply the entry key, as well as: Arrange bed linen and towel changes after one week. Arrange car hire and/or airport transfer. Arrange golf bookings at reduced rates and transport to the course, if necessary. Provide local information and maps. Deal with any problems relating to the apartment. Airport & Flights Vilamoura is 25 km (about 20 minutes by car) from Faro airport. Car hire is not really necessary, but does allow easy exploration of the whole of the attractive Algarve coast and even the more remote west coast beaches can be reached in under an hour.
