Beswick Hall, on the opposite side of the road from St Margaret's church, (just visible in the background of the photograph), is a late Elizabethan manor house built for the local landowner William Daniel in c.1600. The house was remodelled in the 1730s, and more drastically in c.1835, when it was converted into a farmhouse.
