Naturally Better for You is a magazine based in Dorset, UK.
We aim to provide information about natural products, their benefits and where to find them.
Our founder is Philippa Turnbull, mother to Edward aged 4 and George aged 2, and an avid user of natural products.
Philippa has gradually become a convert to a more natural lifestyle over the last 5 years or so, as a result of a combination of things. First of all she developed sensitivity to various food additives – monosodium glutamate and some preservatives in wine and other products – and she became aware that this was somehow building up in her body as she became more and more unwell after consuming them. Then when she became pregnant with her first child she decided that she wanted to give her children a clean start to avoid anything similar happening to them. She made a decision to feed them organic food only – wherever possible. She felt particularly encouraged that this was a good decision when her husband – a sceptic and working in conventional agriculture – agreed with her!
Since then she has come to realise that what you eat is only half the picture. What about the things we put on our skin, or bathe in? Our bodies also absorb those things, and for small children the effect is even greater. As she has become aware of the origins of some of the ingredients in these products, she has made an effort to track down alternatives without them.
Through this publication, we hope to convey to you information we have gathered, and we are still discovering, about the natural products available, their benefits, and where to find them. Philippa firmly believes that these products are naturally better for you, hence the choice of title.
