| ALL TIED UP: Prince
Charles with Philip Partridge |
PRINCE Charles was tied up in knots when he met a man who has
received help from the Prince's Trust.
The royal vistor was performing the opening of a new synagogue
during his day-long visit to Greater Manchester and Cheshire.
He arrived at Altrincham, station and was driven to the new
Bowdon synagogue, where he put on his skull cap for a private
service which lasted half an hour.
He emerged to unveil a plaque and then took part in a
tree-planting ceremony before meeting magician Philip Partidge, who
has benefited from the Trust.
Philip, 33, from Didsbury, showed the Prince three pieces of
rope, all different sizes and then appeared to make them all the
same length.
Bamboozled
He then made them different lengths again. A bamboozled prince
asked for a video replay to see how the trick worked.
The synagogue, which has a congregation of 500, moved from its
previous base in Fallowfield to its new building in September.
Philip, who last year performed for Brooklyn Beckham, said: "It
went extremely well. Nothing went wrong, I think that's because of
all the practice I put in."
Charles moved on to Altrincham Grammar School for Girls where he
was opening a library dedicated to his grandmother, The Queen
Mother.
He then visited Jodrell Bank and the newly restored Anderton Boat
Lift.
