Edward West

Edward was born in Brussels in 1815, his father having fought close to there that year in the Battle of Waterloo. After the family moved to France he decided to join a friend of his father on the Island of Madalena. Here he met and became a friend of Garibaldi. When the great soldier started on his quest to free the Italians from foreign rule Edward joined his corps. He stayed with Garibaldi through until the the re-unification of Italy had been achieved. He eventually died in Genoa of cholera.
