Percy 'Jack' Herbert Alexander He was born in 1919 in Suffolk as Percy Herbert but was always known as Jack. His father was a farm labourer. He met his wife, Emily Faulkner, during the second world war while stationed as an anti-aircraft gunner in Wembley. After they were married in 1945 they rented a house in Kingsbury. He worked for many years on the bus production line at the AEC works in Hanwell, travelling to work each day on his Royal Enfield motor bike. After his wife Emily died in 1976 he worked as a porter at Wembley Hospital. There he met his second Mary Harland who he married in 1981. He died in Wembley in 1989. |
