Vocational Training - Application Process
Thank you for considering Acorn Dental Practice as a potential placement for your vocational training year.
To ensure fair recruitment procedures are employed, a specific application process has been designed. Listed below are the steps in this process:
The Application
The Deanery tries to appoint a variety of practices and practitioners to take on the role of Trainer. The trainer and support staff will wish their VDP to have certain characteristics and skills to be suitable to undertake not only the care of their patients, but also become a member of the practice team in both attitude and ability.
The above would require that only applications written specifically in response to their person specification and job description would be considered.
To help you with the application process, you must satisfy the following criteria:

Short Listing of Application
Once we have received your application, we will read and shortlist using set criteria. The short listed candidates will be invited for interview.
If you have been short listed for an interview, we will contact you no later than Saturday 25th April by 5pm.
Interviews
Interviews will be conducted at the practice at a mutually convenient time.
Following the interviewing process, the most appropriate applicant for the position will be selected.
Selection
The Deanery stipulates, that no offer of position nor appointment should be made within two weeks of the list being released. To comply with this, we will notify the successful candidate exactly two weeks from the release of the list by 10am.
Acceptance
Verbal acceptance of the position is a legally binding contract, however to formalise this, a document titled “Letter of Intent” needs to be signed by both parties. This will be arranged as soon as possible following verbal acceptance.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the practice on 0121 777 1537.
Thank you for your application and Good luck!
