Local actor Joe Gilgun 22 from Heath Charnock via Coppull has
landed a starring role as Eli Dingle in ITV's
Emmerdale.
Joe, star of
Coronation St in 1995 through 1997 when he played Jamie
Armstrong the naughty grandchild of Jack and Vera Duckworth
to great critical acclaim, has since appeared in lots of TV
programmes including Hollyoaks and Shameless as well as
numerous local and national stage appearances.
This latest
role comes swiftly after Joe's starring role in the new film
by accomplished director Shane Meadows 'This is
Britain' shortly to be premiered in Paris and London.
The film is
set to be another British blockbuster and follows in
the great British tradition of 'The full Monty' 'Notting
Hill' and 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'
His Grandma
Linda, who lives in Coppull Hall Lane, is delighted at Joe's
new excursion into television and told me that 'Joe is a
very talented actor who has always been interested and
involved in acting from a very early age and certainly
deserves his success.
