Interview Tips
As you might
expect, ChoiceTec Recruitment reviews
a great number of CVs and consults extensively with employers, and from
that experience, we have developed a list of our top tips to help you
present yourself in the most positive way during job
interviews.
1. Make a good first impression.
Little things such as grooming, politeness, posture, eye contact, and
appropriate use of language are not little at all during a job
interview. These things speak volumes about the kind of person
you are, and the kind of employee and co-worker you are likely to
become.
2. Turn up, without fail, and without being late. Know exactly how you will get to the interview and take contact details for the employer/ChoiceTec Recruitment with you in case of trouble. If you encounter unforeseen circumstances and are delayed, you must call to inform the employer. It is always a good idea to leave extra time to cover potential delays. 3. Know your CV. Be aware of its strengths and weaknesses and how you can present those things in a positive way. 4. Ask questions. Nothing demonstrates your interest in the position and the company more than asking questions. 5. Be positive. Show the
interviewer that you believe you have what it takes to get the job
done, and speak well of previous employers, even if you are leaving a
position you hated.
6. Be honest. If you are caught misrepresenting yourself during the interview or in your CV, you will not get the position; furthermore, you will not be able to succeed at a job for which you do not have the necessary skills. 7. Discuss salary only after the interviewer brings it up. You do not want to give the impression that money is your only consideration. 8. Bring a few spare copies of your CV. Make sure these copies arrive at the interview in good condition and cleanly printed, in case you need them. 9. Leave
gracefully. Do not linger once the interview has reached
its natural conclusion; thank them and be on your way. On the other
hand, don't be so eager to leave that you look out the window, or at
your watch, during the interview. Make sure you leave them wanting to
see more of you.
