GTL – Air Separation Plant ADT
team
Instrument and Control
Engineer
As
a key member of the Air Separation Asset Delivery Team (ADT),
the Instrument, Control and Telecommunications (IC&T)
Engineer shall act as the Focal Point for all discipline
related project activities.
During
engineering project execution the IC&T Engineer shall
review key Instrument, Control and Telecommunications
engineering deliverables issued by the Air Separation
Implementation Contractor (IC). The IC&T Engineer shall
ensure HSE is factored into all design deliverables, as well
ensuring deliverables are compliant with project requirements
and a Quality design is delivered to assist with the flawless
start-up of the 4 train Air separation Plant.
Roles
and Responsibilities
1.
Help foster a
HSE mindset within the ADT and IC team.
2.
Provide guidance
and support to the IC to help deliver a Quality engineering
design that satisfies the project requirements.
3.
Encourage a no
change and flawless start up mindset within the ADT and IC
team.
4.
Actively
participate and encourage a one team mentality within ADT, PMC
and IC.
5.
Provide guidance
on the interpretation of Project Specifications and Shell
DEP’s.
6.
Review
discipline engineering documents to guarantee quality and
compliance with relevant Project Specification’s and Shell
DEP’s.
7.
Answer in a
timely manner all discipline technical queries and deviations.
8.
Review in a
timely manner all discipline engineering deliverables.
9.
Recognise
discipline key interfaces and help resolve all issues relating
to these interfaces.
10.
Be an integral
member of the engineering team for all project reviews
including, PEFS, HAZOP, IPF, Fire and Gas as well discipline
audits.
11.
Participate
in progress meetings to maintain an overview of progress,
issues and actions.
12.
Follow
up to ensure closure of all discipline actions arising from
any meetings.
13.
Provide
discipline input during the procurement phase.
14.
Co-ordination
with PMC concerning all discipline related activities.
15.
Provide input
and advice to ADT Project Controls and Contract Management
concerning matters relating to the management of change (work
scope, cost and schedule).
16.
Provide input
and advice to ADT Commissioning Management relating to
discipline activities.
17.
In
a PMC supervisory capacity help IC plan, develop, coordinate
and direct all aspects of field engineering to meet project
technical and environmental requirements. There is no direct
supervision of any IC subcontractors.
18.
As
technical specialist, help IC develop and evaluate plans and
criteria for various site activities. Asses the feasibility
and soundness of proposed engineering ideas and evaluations,
developing necessary data as required. Usually perform as an
Advisor and Consultant in a technical specialty.
19.
Be
an effective team leader and team supervisor. Competent and
responsible in counseling subordinates in career development
and enhancement of skills to aid in achieving career goals.
20.
Answer
construction questions on drawings, interpreting drawings and specifications
for IC, especially at interfaces with other IC.
21.
Working
with IC to define resolutions for field problems or late
engineering change.
22.
Reviewing
contactors as-built drawings in the field for completeness and
clarity.
ESSENTIAL
SKILLS
Education – Preferred BSc or BEng degree in Instrumentation/Electronics
Engineering or equivalent, due consideration will be given for
experience, for those without degree.
Significant relevant experience of leading complex petrochemical
projects.
Good supervisory skills
Site experience
PMC role experience
Foundation fieldbus experience is a plus
Middle East
site experience is a plus.
Shell DEP
standards knowledge is a plus
