Ceramic Clay Earthenware Rune Stones
Hand Made Ceramic Rune Stone Sets
I no longer have the kiln, there are only 2 sets of hand made bisc fired Rune Sets available to purchase.
Bisc fired means the rune symbol has been fired on the clay at 1060 degrees C, but they are not gloss fired / finished, so are porous.
The last 2 sets available can be varnished with a **non fired gloss sealer, to varnish would take about 7-10 days to process
If interested I will then send a money request via paypal so you may make a secure payment.
All prices quoted for UK postings.
Costs : Hand Made Rune Set
bisc fired as is without pouch P&P UK £ 9.00 - Not varnished
bisc fired with pouch + P&P UK £10.50 - Not varnished
bisc fired with pouch + P&P UK £15.50 - Varnished (as described **)
If the item is to be posted outside UK please advise - Postage costs will differ for overseas destinations.

Please note the images shown here is a gloss fired Rune Set, not a bisc fired set. Images of bisc fired set available.
Each individual Rune measures approximately 3cm x 2.5cm W and 0.5cm deep.
Because the set is hand made each Rune is unique and the sizes will differ.
The set is not commercially made, and therefore does not come boxed in commercial wrapping.

Requests for Runes to be made during a specific lunar cycle by arrangement.
The making of Rune stones is carried out over a period of days and weeks. The process includes : clay preparation, hand fashioning of each Rune, smoothing off, drying, hand painting, carving or overlay, further smoothing off, drying time, 1st firing greenware, 2nd firing glaze, cooling time and finally hand finishing backs. During the drying off and fashioning process the Runes will bask in Lunar and Solar Energies. The firing temperature for earthenware Runes is 1060 degrees celsius.
The whole process of making these Runes will involve and include earth, air, fire and water.
(Hand Made Clay Rune Stones therefore are very special).
Clay is made of tiny crystals which must be fashion in a way that they all lie alongside each other in harmony to avoid air pockets between crystal particles
(these can cause fracturing in the kiln). During the drying out process the clay will shrink as water
evaporates, even during the firing time the crystal particles within the clay will move, expand and contract, and further shrinkage occurs as moisture continues to evaporate.
Even after firing is complete the clay and the tiny crystals from which it is formed remains what I can only describe as "live", that is to say, there will continue to be movement within the clay. Fired earthenware is capable of taking up moisture and is affected by temperature and the elements "it remains live"!
