Supporting families

Families need help for a variety or reasons including exhaustion, loneliness, multiple births or lone parenting.

Home-visiting

So far, we have helped families:-

*    With several pre-school children

*    With a very active toddler

*    Who have children with disabilities

*    Coping with multiple births

*    Where Mum feels isolated

*    With lone parents

One of the Mums we supported asked for our help because she had four children (including triplets) under 3 years.  Her volunteer supported her for about two years and her visits were looked forward to by the whole family.

Family Group (Tuesdays – 9.30 start)

There are many reasons why a parent may be reluctant to have a volunteer visit them at home.  Attending a group is their preferred option and enables them to meet other parents as well as benefit from Home-Start’s support.

The group meets every Tuesday starting at 9.30am (excluding school and public holidays) at St Luke’s Hall, Baxter Road, IG1.

If you have pre-school children and would like to ‘stay and play’, please contact us or drop in.
