3d Images

The data for these images were typed in by hand, based on the Ordnance Survey map of the area, and then the images were rendered using Mistletoe, the GUI system I developed for Emblem. I implemented Mistletoe's 3d code from scratch on top of Xlib.

You are looking South East. In the distance, you can see Ben Nevis. Sgurr a'Mhàim is the mountain behind it and to its right. The red areas in the foreground are Corpach, Claggan and Fort William. The curved blue area is Loch Linnhe.

Approximately the same view as in the image at the top of http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~fiski/bennevis.html.

You are looking approximately south-west. In the distance, on the left, is Ben Nevis. The rise to its right is Meall an t-Suidhe, and the valley to its right is Glen Nevis.

You are looking north-west. At the bottom of the picture is Sgurr a'Mhàim. Beyond it and to its right is Ben Nevis. The valley on the left, with forest on its west slope, is Glen Nevis. Fort William and Loch Linnhe are visible in the distance on the left. Because the map is cut off at Meall Bhanabhie, some mountains (e.g. Stob a'Ghrianain) are absent from this view.
