Guye Roberts has been restoring Antiques since 1990.

Guye learned to use woodworking tools at his father's knee. Nevertheless, he considered it vital to learn and practice the special arts and secrets of furniture restoration before launching himself upon customers' valuable antique treasures.

After a year of 'hands-on' training with a renowned Restorer in Brighton, he set up his own workshop in Gillingham Dorset and steadily built up a thriving business with an ever growing clientele of happy and satisfied customers.

After the first few years of very limited local advertising, almost all Guye's business came in the form of repeats from existing clients and/or referrals from the same loyal customer base.

In 2001, Guye moved from Dorset to Devon, back to his roots, and is now settled in Newton Ferrers, near Plymouth with a new and larger workshop and a new and growing client base.

As before, the bulk of Guye's work comes in the form of repeats and referrals, with several old customers still coming from Dorset, who see the two hour drive to Devon as a price well worth paying to have Guye repair and maintain their antiques.
