Red Kite Breeding Success

Following the re-introduction in 1989, the first pair of birds bred successfully in 1992.

These graphs illustrate the average number of chicks per nest ( brood size ) that were observed whilst tagging and ringing in excess of 650 broods over the last 15 years ( 1992 to 2006 ). In excess of 1350 chicks were fitted with identifying leg rings and many fitted with wing tags.
