Internal Consultancy: I was responsible for developing new design methods using computer aided engineering techniques.  When a method was fully developed I would implement it in the client department.  This involved training, writing user-friendly interfaces and support activities.

Improving vehicle crash worthiness through computer simulations and developing passenger safety devices (paper published at an international conference in Washington DC).

Planned and supervised prototype production and testing, including the selection and management of project teams.

Developed a database that tracked modifications to vehicle specifications (MRP Bill of Materials).  This formed the basis of an information system that created status reports for senior management.  Line management responsibility for six staff and supervised a budget of £300,000.

Responsibility for the layout of a mobile radar system, and the design of component parts.  Packaging electronics and designing to ensure continued operation in hostile environments.  Manage regular progress meetings with the client and supervised four draughtsmen.  I introduced computer analysis techniques to the design environment and wrote interfacing software.
