FORD MOTOR COMPANY
Cologne, West Germany
Consultant Engineer
Sept 1987-Sept 1989

Responsible for the engineering analysis of the Ford Mondeo.  Concentrated on two projects: the problem of vibrations in the steering system and vibrations in the front half of the vehicle body.  The objective in doing this work was to meet or exceed the Ford target level for vibration and thereby improve the customers’ perception of vehicle quality.

The project involved participants in Ford of Germany, Britain and the USA.  As the leading analyst in this area I took on a co-ordinating role. The project was successful in meeting its vibration target.  I also developed software to speed up both the project and other departmental analysis.
