Taxonomy Development
A taxonomy is a categorisation system, used to provide an outline description of collections of "things". The outline groups "things" which have similar characteristics. The "things" may be documents, functions, books - indeed, anything which might be considered to be a "collection".Taxonomies have a variety of applications and may be used with computer packages or with on-paper collections to help improve identification of and navigation through information resources.
