Fleetwood
Fleetwood is situated at the North eastern corner of the Fylde at the mouth of the beautiful Wyre River
The marina is approached via a channel past the P&O ferry terminal on the starboard side which is known affectionately to club members as "Rare Orchid Channel"
The inner dock is very well sheltered but is exposed in strong westerlies to loud music fom the nearby Freeport shopping centre.
It is a very welcome haven when it blows up in the bay or we find ourseves near Lune 1 buoy too early to sail up the river to our moorings at Glasson.
Or if we find ourselves sinking!
