WANTED!
A Letter from the Chairperson

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Gweithdy'r Gair - The Wordshop is committed to taking its cultural and educational events to as many communities as possible, and we are always eager to make contact with anybody who can help us to achieve that aim. We rely mainly on local organisers, promoters and hosts who are interested in bringing our work to their communities.

We currently offer two performances,  'A House of Leaves', and  ‘Native Americans, Native Europeans and the lost tribe of Welsh Indians’, and four presentations,  ‘The love poetry of Dafydd ap Gwilym' Dafydd ap Gwilym & the Fourteenth Century’, ‘Dylan for Beginners’, and ‘The Lost Tribe of Welsh Indians’.

Our work is particularly appropriate for Welsh / Celtic societies, literary societies, cultural organisations, arts centres, schools and colleges, and it is accessible and enjoyable for a wide and general audience.

As a rough guide, a two week tour with the plays (3 people) is viable if we earn $3000 and are offered accommodation; a two week tour with the readings (2 people) is viable if we earn $2000 and are offered accommodation. We suggest a fee of $500 - $600 for the performances, and $300 - $350 for the presentations, which means we need 5 to 6 bookings in 2 weeks to pay the costs.

For any further information please contact us by mail, phone, fax or e-mail.

Dymuniadau gorau - Best wishes,

Janet Blackburn,   Chairperson,   Gweithdy'r Gair - The Wordshop
