NOTES FOR GUIDANCE OF APPLICANTS & SPONSORS
Club Rule 14:
Election of Members
14.1 Candidates for election shall sign an Application Form undertaking to comply with the Rules & Bye Laws of the Club and shall be proposed and seconded by two Full Members, to whom they must be personally known, and their names shall be posted in the Clubhouse for at least two weeks prior to submission to the General Management Committee. All new Applicants for membership will be interviewed by at least two Members of the General Management Committee.
14.2 A member, other than Temporary Members, is elected by resolution of the General Management Committee who may decline to elect a candidate without giving a reason.
14.3 A Member proposing or seconding a candidate must have been a Full Member for at least two years. A candidate who does not know two Full Members to propose and second his or her application may be accepted but shall be subject to a probationary period of membership for twelve months. A letter of recommendation from a recognised Golf Club may be accepted if a candidate does not know two Full Members to propose and second his or her application.
14.4 No candidate shall be elected unless he or she obtains a two thirds majority of the votes of the Members of the General Management Committee present at the meeting.
14.5 On election of a new Member, the Secretary shall notify the Applicant in writing, enclosing a copy of the Rules and a notice to pay the entrance fee and first subscription. If the payment is not made within one calendar month from the date of notification, the election of such Members shall be absolutely void, unless the Member shall give sufficient reason for the delay to the satisfaction of the General Management Committee.
Club Rule 15:
Entrance Fees & Subscriptions
15.3 A Member paying his/her first subscription is considered thereby to have submitted himself/herself to the Rules, Regulations and Bye Laws of the Club, a copy of which shall be available upon request. Any increase in subscription proposed by the General Management Committee shall be notified to all Members by means of a notice on the Clubhouse Noticeboard, at least six weeks before it is due to be implemented. If any Member has not paid the subscriptions, annual levies and all other monies due by 31st May, his or her membership will be deemed to have terminated. He or she must then re-apply for membership according to the Rules of the Club.

On the election of a
new Member, Sponsors are asked to ensure their nominee receive the courtesy of
introduction to other Members of the Club to play golf with him/her, and
arrange sufficient introductions to other Members who are willing to play golf
with him/her.
