Ellie Parker - Director

After the Royal Academy Of Music and Oxford University, Ellie joined the Welsh National Opera as a trainee director. She then formed a TIE company that ran for three years before she returned to London as an actor with, amongst others, Rowan Atkinson. After a break owning and running Effys - a Good Food Guide-recommended restaurant in Hay-on-Wye and Hereford, she taught theatre whilst researching for her PhD from Bristol University. She pushed hard for The Courtyard Centre For The Arts to be built in Hereford, where NTW, formed in 1999, is now resident. She lives in Golden Valley, is a passionate gardener, and is married to a farmer. They have three children. She combines fundraising and producing with directing and performing.

As NTW is project funded it is impossible to maintain a core staff, so an ever expanding group of writers, directors, actors, musicians, marketing officers, designers, and technical crew are drawn on for each project, most of them returning several times.
