COLIN "OLD" BAILEY

Colin is Pastor-in Waiting at The Hallowed Church of The Divine Pyromaniac. A  keen bicycle dynamo restorer, he once knocked out Frankie Howard, who tried to slip a hand up his cassock during a boy scout jamboree in Lower Dicker

CAR MANGLED BADGER
By Colin "Old" Bailey

Oh, say can you see
by the dawn's early light
what now remains of
the wildlife once teaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright
coat now lie squashed flat
o'er the trunk road where all
the traffic's now streaming?
And the brake light's red glare,
the monoxide filled air,
gave proof through the night
that for our cars we still care
Oh, say does that car-mangled badger yet lie mashed
O'er the A259 and the Brenzett by-pass?

This poem is best performed to the tune of "A Star spangled banner" - CB
