With start number 109 I was at the back of the race from the start with most of the other Brits. Actually the last 3 rows were mainly Brits. The starts are always a lottery, as we set off down the track 10 across there numerous crashes. Rider were disappearing into the ditches on both sides of the track. After a few near misses and stops we headed up the firetrack to the top of the course. Then walked down the first singletrack and got into position for racing.
I was quite happy with the race as I was in groups and felt like I was racing. The course had been changed a little from last year, the real dangerous sections had been made easier but it was still demanding. On the fourth lap I had a puncture, this seemed to take ages to fix. As I came around for the last lap I was outside the 80% rule, so was stopped, this put me in the 80s with a finish result.
Liam Killeen did a great ride to finish 4th... well done!
