NPS Trentham Gardens, Stoke. The Final Round.

This was the final round of the four race National series for 2002. After the past few weeks excitement it was back to reality. The course was the same as was used for the Enduro 6 earlier in the year and it was quite muddy. There were two good climbs and some nice singletrack. I had the most points before the start but with the rules allowing one round to be dropped it was still all to play for. In most of the previous seasons I have been in the same position, so would this year be different or would I end up second again?

The race was as normal, not until 3pm...great. Well I am only going to write a brief report as I want to go to bed. (We are off to Switzerland early tomorrow and I'm not sure of the internet connection possibilities). Oli Beckingsale was going very well, Phil Dixon was also doing a good ride and hung on for most of the race, they finished 1st & 2nd and I managed to salvage 3rd place. This was good enough to give me my first ever National Series win. I always seem to have finished second!

Caroline won the women's race and is looking forward to the World Championships in Kaprun in three weeks time.
