2004 Premier mtb series - Margam Park, South Wales - 7th August'04 After my holiday in France I returned in time for the last round of the National series. With the XC racing on Saturday it was race time in no time. Some races it just does not happen, this was one of them. I set off and held on to the leaders for half a lap and then just crept around with my equally slow teammate Ian Wilkinson (Ian had just returned from 2 weeks in Turkey). I finished but did not even bother looking at the results! Sunday was the lower key endurance events. The course was a real epic, it was an even bigger lap than they used to use in the early 90s. It climbed and climbed, it made the XC of the day before seem flat. I was riding the 6 hour pairs with Sue Thomas. I was feeling a bit better than the day before but not great. We kept changing position as different riders were up against the course and each other. Sue and I finished 2nd, this was enough for us to win the 6 hour pair series.
