This weekend was another warm and sunny one. The Giant Team were all at Coed y Brenin for the second running of the Fat Tyre Festival.  This is not a race but way marked routes around the great trails, some of them in reverse to normal.  We were mainly there to take out groups and pass on a few tips, as the whole team were there we also managed to get some good riding in.

We received out new XTC too, so much "tinkering and fiddling" took place. But by the end of the weekend we were ready for next weeks first national race at  Thetford Forest.

Lucky for me Jamie Norfolk looked after me all weekend.  I must have got out of the routine of being away every weekend as I made some big mistakes!  First of all I forgot the team jet-wash that I promised Pat I would bring. His response was he had 3 spare one!  So a lucky escape for me. The worst mistake was the key to our accommodation in town (notice I did not call it a hotel - as it was modelled on Faulty Towers). After Saturday's riding I decided to leave my car on site and go into town with Jamie. I got to my room only to find I had left my key in the car. Basil did not have a spare key either so Jamie had to drive me back up to site!  Sunday we did a good ride in the morning and when it came to taking groups out I was tired, as I said Jamie looked after me!

Hopefully I can get my act together for next weekend. I think I have won there for the pass three years but this year I am having a slower start to the season.
